The Botanic Gardens are magnificent. Already some damage in the form of branches on the ground. We walked around today, then went for lunch at the next door hotel.

This huge tree is not tall, but is very wide.

Everywhere a new sight, be it a skyscraper or a lagoon. Iguanas about and many Ibis, which we now call pigeons.

Roads are empty, no buses, few people.

Special mention to Tom at Audley's and James here in Brizzy, for getting our flights off the ground on Tuesday and getting us a great place to stay at short notice. The location of our apartment is wonderfully central. Sorry the arts and history museums are closed, but this is nothing. Our thoughts with tens of thousands who have been told to evacuate their homes. Thanks as well to all hotel staff keeping the place open, not always able to get back home.
