Road Trip To Noosa

Peaceful night occasional torrential rain over in seconds. We packed up and set off Northwards and bypassing Brisbane on the way. We were caught up a little in the rush hour as we departed. The we crossed the boundary into Queensland. As soon as we did that our clocks went back an hour. Lo and behold we were in the rush hour again. Anyway, we detoured into Gold Coast which is very interesting. Very like Dubai on the face of it, even with housing developed on 'fronds' with water channels between them.

A part of Gold Coast is 'Surfers Paradise' where I had a great chilli eggs breakfast. The beach was closed as the waves were so big, having been whipped up by Alfred. We crossed a beautiful 12 lane bridge to enter Brisbane on the way here. Gold Coast was the venue for 2018 Commonwealth Games.

Notice the cloud is threatening, I do not want to be at the top of one of those tower blocks when the cyclone hits town. The news is showing footage from the 2011 disaster, flooding. But we arrived at Pepper Noosa and have a superb apartment. You may just see the complex at the end of this beach. It is amazing and very warm and Sunny.

I headed straight to throw myself in the wonderful pool, Liz captured this graceful splash moment from our balcony.

Cloudless skies here at this complex system of rivers and sea and spits of land. Golden fine sand everywhere, the beaches are amazing. Now with Alfred on the loose you might think galeophobia is fear of strong winds. No, that is Ancraophobia. Galeophobia is a fear of sharks. I am sure I have that. When I look out at the huge Ocean and the waves, I feel sharks are there.

But it is beginning to sound like we will be disrupted by this. Schools are shutting down, residents told to buy water in. There is very little on the shelf now, as I said yesterday. Now we know the reason for sure. Bread, eggs also sold out. Lucky I had two for breakfast.

Unluckily we are due to drive to our last apartment which is in Brisbane, this Friday, which is currently when landfall is predicted.

Youngsters abound here, like the last place. Beach lifestyle, vans transformed into surfing wagons, bed above the storage. Not a spare inch empty.
