Had a lazy start, packed up Mazzy and set off towards Mile Beach which is not far from us. Indeed we find one end, a wonderful car park and amenities for all those wanting to swim and surf. A large lifeguard station is manned and I wonder that this is provided free of charge as a public service, or so it seems.
Everyday coffee was provided by an 'Olivers' en route where something was going on with the staff who all seemed very cross to see us and each other. As we high tailed it out of there soonish we passed a 'how did we do?' button and we were moved to press the grumpy face choice, with a short explanation.
Later, at Flynn beach, just the opposite from a super restaurant on this lovely beach in Port Macquarie. We want to go back for lunch tomorrow and a swim. From there we drove 27km to our new home, 'The Farmhouse' which is very much in the middle of nowhere. Although there are other people here they are dotted around in wooden buildings and all presumably using the same brown water we have on tap. Yes, it is a bit odd. There is a jug of it thoughtfully provided for us in the fridge. The 38 degree water in the hot tub, is oddly not brown. We have a great wide screen tv, Netflix, Iplayer, Youtube et al, but also brown water, no explanation. The nearest town, in the other direction is also 37 km away , at 110KPH mind you.
Lots of animals around, we can feed and pet them by arrangement. It is an amazing place, but retreating is not what we usually like in a holiday. We can live with it. We have made some plans for tomorrow which I will keep you in suspense about for now!
Our breakfast is supplied here, farmhouse bread, butter, oats and eggs. Jolly good!
