Port Stephens

Again, the day gets warmer all the time until 19:00 and the breeze is then like opening an oven when your roast dinner is ready. Which is a bit like now as Liz has two potatoes baking and we have discovered the least expensive food to be Scotch Beef fillet which will accompany said spuds.

If you drive up to the radio masts, the highest point in Port Stephens, you can see the only way out to the ocean. I have linked to a map of our hotel, you can drill down and see the swimming pool island, we are in the top left quadrant, on the outside. you can also scroll around to see how this section of Australia is formed.

Resolved our last escape game we brought with us. A nice fiddly bit at the end aligning two markers.

Once again the simple things prove to be memorable. The Pelicans are used to people because this is where many fisherman bring their catches in and take their boats out of the water to trail home. There is a filleting station with water under the cover and not much gets dumped in the bin at the end, rather being eaten by these beautiful birds.

Natural law rules here. This is an ancient tribal land. The Dolphins used to swish their tails to confuse the fish and capture them easily. One Dolphin said they should not catch too many at once or there would be none left. So the Dolphins decided to put extra effort into one last big swish and with that they came up on the land and became the first men. Other stories are available.
